The story of Silk Circle is similar to many businesses; A craft that evolves into a business. For Silk Circle, the inspiration came from the inability to find skincare that didn’t’ irritate shop owner Mary Mclean’s grandchildren. After years of experimenting, she developed an organic soap that not only soothed skin - but took off.
For Silk Circle we created a brand identity that reflected the delicate balance of: craft and curation. The brand reflects the native Texas spirit and maintains a gender neutral color palette. We wanted to provide a visual soundtrack to the intimate creation process of handmade goods.
We also wanted to elevate the brand to the level of high-end skincare market using photography. We created moody product-scapes with harsh lights and visually engaging props that represent the Native Texan landscape, such as Driftwood, thistles and stone. Each product category was assigned a staged “collection” image, along with isolated photos for the e-commerce experience.
Finally, to launch the brand we created an easily accessible commerce platform to allow users to browse and purchase the handcrafted heirlooms. We are passionate about supporting local businesses and providing the tools and identities that allow them to grow their businesses.
