As Bank of China (Hong Kong) is generally perceived as a traditional brand with a long history, it wanted to elevate its brand image to a "contemporary bank" offering one-stop digital solutions for SMEs, especially millennial entrepreneurs. Our proposition for the video campaign was "speed is key to success". To manifest an upbeat and energetic city pace, we used the "stream of consciousness" as the video shooting approach and edited the films along a robust and dynamic direction. With a modern color tone, uplifting background music and cyber motion graphics, we successfully portrayed a young, energetic and contemporary image for the bank. As the video would be placed on YouTube, we applied the 6 Second Rule in our design of the video, so as to deliver a modern and a speedy look and feel within the first 6 seconds of the video and invite our target audience in. We have obtained over 800,000 views in 5 days subsequent to publishing the video as a result.
