The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Discovery, Education, and Affiliate Networks (DEAN) ensures our nation’s Veterans have access to innovative health care solutions by promoting medical research initiatives, training health care professions, and developing community partnerships. DEAN's mission is to transform healthcare for Veterans and the Nation through innovation, training, research, and partnerships. This work is accomplished through DEAN's affiliated program offices: the Office of Academic Affiliations, the Office of Research and Development, the Office of Healthcare Learning and Innovation, and the VHA National Center for Healthcare Advancement and Partnerships.

To tell the story of the organization’s diverse work, rapid growth, and impact, DEAN worked with Titan Alpha to develop its 2021 annual report—a 40-page print-ready and interactive digital booklet reflecting the many contributions of DEAN’s four affiliate program offices and highlighting key accomplishments for the year, including the organization’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. DEAN’s 2021 annual report demonstrates the many ways it positively impacts VA employees and its most important beneficiary—Veterans—while building name recognition and establishing the organization as a leader in continuous learning and healthcare innovation. The fingerprint theme throughout the report underscores DEAN's lasting mark on Veterans' healthcare and its unique imprint and value for internal and external stakeholders.

To develop this report, Titan Alpha collaborated with DEAN communications leads, affiliate office leads, and subject matter experts. Our marcoms team managed the report design and production, from initial planning and storyboarding, to developing compelling content, to designing, producing, editing, and sharing the final product.

DEAN's 2021 annual report stands out in the federal space as a well-designed, engaging product that reflects the innovative and forward-looking nature of the office. DEAN has received countless compliments on the final product and is proud to have an annual report that effectively tells the story of its important work for Veterans.
