This assignment was to create a brand for a new publishing venture. The ethos was to convey a contemporary and sophisticated mark that established a visual signifier for a book line that is a highly curated venue for literary memoirs and smart fiction.

Aesthetically, the mark was conceived as a minimalist approach meant to convey a sharing of wisdom and a sense of nurturing. The reductionist approach of symbolizing hands integrated into geo-organic trees was intended to represent a tree of knowledge as much as a tree of life.

The client was pleased with the first take as we captured the essence of what we wanted to achieve with this mark. I also design the books for the imprint as well, so it's a very intentional element of the visual ecosystem for the line.

Additionally, our authors are very proud to have the branding applied to their books as an overt sign of quality.
