Located between a lighthouse and a legend, at Northlight apartments, the amazing is everywhere. To our west, residents will find a majestic lighthouse; to our east, the historic town of Sleepy Hollow; and all around, the new Edge-on-Hudson neighborhood rises. Weaving together an industrial past, a waterside location and deep roots in the Hudson Valley, Northlight offers a unique environment that inspires its residents all day, every day.
Northlight’s logo was inspired by the nearby Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse and that design element then became a driving force in the branding campaign. As the website opens, the logo casts a beacon of light over a property image creating a dramatic first impression. In addition, the logo inspired a collection of custom icons used throughout the brand campaign. These icons speak to various aspects of the property, as well as local lore, like the whales that have been occasionally sighted in the Hudson River nearby. In digital form, the icons animate to draw attention to features of the site; while in print, they enliven the table of contents. Further inspiration was taken from graphic patterns created from historic lighthouse signal charts, in which triangles in varying widths are used to indicate length and frequency of light beams. These patterns, along with carefully curated photography and font selections, infuse the design with a distinct sense of place.
