How can we drive home the stark reality of making the wrong decision within the energy utility space?

When a lightning storm takes out a major power station, the National Grid are faced with two options: cut the power to two million people, or do nothing and risk the entire system going down. With no way to evaluate the risks, our protagonist decides take action without realising she will also be cutting power to a hospital – with tragic consequences. But what if there was a way for this catastrophe to be avoided? In an alternate timeline, our protagonist uses Palantir Foundry to make an informed decision in this time of crisis, saving lives and averting disaster.

Commissioned for the Energy Networks Innovation Conference, this film was inspired by real events to highlight how, while the energy utility space has access to vast volumes of information about their assets, many lack the digital infrastructure to apply that information to complex prioritisation decisions. Palantir Foundry can be used to inform decision-making, minimising risks and making the industry safer for everyone.
