Children Of Conflict

'Children Of Conflict' is a contemporary work for social justice to bring attention to the plight of 'children of conflict' around the globe. It is comprised of six movements: Proloque, Father's Lament, Lost-Innocence, Desolation, Mother's Lament & Epilogue. The work is written by Peter Xifaras, recorded in Prague and performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Marek Štilec, conductor. Current events in Ukraine, Afghanistan and Iran were the impetus for the works creation. It is a harsh but important message of the innocents who every day suffer all over the world as they are at the mercy of rogue dictators and corrupt governments. This unfortunate reality of the human condition reminds us of these children whose lives have been indescribably altered through no choice of their own, their parents either gone, or so traumatized they are struggling to simply cope with the ever changing patchwork their lives and futures have become.
