In 2021, Sallie Mae’s charitable foundation — The Sallie Mae Fund — launched three scholarship programs to further promote diversity in higher education for students from historically underserved communities. Working in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Sallie Mae is awarding $3 million in scholarships over the next three years to help students achieve their dream of a post-secondary education. One of the scholarship programs — The Bridging the Dream Scholarship for High School Seniors — provides 25 students from diverse backgrounds with $10,000 to help fund their unique path to higher education.
Sallie Mae’s first National Scholarship Month Campaign, a creative media and digital activation that celebrated all 25 scholarship recipients for the month of November, combined earned, owned, and paid media efforts that targeted local markets, social media audiences, and key stakeholders.
