"Ink From the Spirit" is an art exhibition that combines traditional ink painting, interactive technology, and immersive projection to showcase the beauty of Taipei city and promote urban tourism. The exhibition is located on the 5th floor of the Taipei 101 shopping center, at the AMBI SPACE ONE. It is equipped with 43 projectors, with the highest brightness of 11,000 lumens, to create a high-definition, five-sided immersive projection space. In addition to showcasing the immersive projection in the style of ink painting, we have also designed an interactive feedback system using breath-sensing technology. Through this system, audiences can participate in the exhibition by recreating the projected ink lines with their own breath, creating a symbiotic and harmonious relationship between the audience and the exhibition.
The projection content is a collaboration with artist Professor Hsu Wen-Jung, who utilizes the language of ink painting to reinterpret Taipei's distinctive landmarks and scenery. We combine the spirit of ink painting with digital technology to present an aesthetic style that blends traditional culture with modern technology. The four calligraphic brush strokes are transformed into the visual foundation of the projection, creating a poetic ink landscape: "Starting Strokes" depicts the beauty of ink through giant calligraphy; "Continuing Strokes" extends the calligraphic lines downward; "Turning Strokes" showcases the unique features of various scenic spots in Taipei and New Taipei City; and "Finishing Strokes" concludes the painting by transforming the overall image into a bird's-eye view map of Taipei and New Taipei City, allowing viewers to overlook the veins of the land.
We also collaborated with the Industrial Technology Research Institute to utilize low-power miniature radar physiological monitoring technology, transforming the projected walls into interactive visual algorithms. Participants can interact with the projection through their own breathing, creating a collaborative ink painting.
Through this exhibition, we hope to become a medium for promoting local urban tourism, while also implementing the integration and development of forward-looking applied technology, providing more new and innovative ideas for the domestic digital innovation ecosystem and cultural technology industry.
