Tomsk region is located among forests and mires with its rich flora and fauna. "The area of the Great Vasyugan Mire is over 55 000 m*, which is about 2% of the whole area of peat bogs of the world. The landscape structure of the Great Vasyugan Mire includes bogs (32%), fens (35%) and forested mires (33%)." Bogs prevent the development of the greenhouse effect, processing carbon dioxide to oxygen, therefore, along with forests being called the "lungs of the planet". "The Great Vasyugan mire is a natural phenomenon having no analogues in the world. It has a unique system of natural complexes, extreme complexity of the landscape structure, development of special types of swamp massif" (UNESCO, 2007). In 2007 The Great Vasyugan Mires have been added to UNESCO's Tentative List.

"Sintez" is the first merch with the symbols of the flora and fauna of the Tomsk region, created by the Fashion Lab of the Siberian Design Centre. The name of the collection was chosen not by a chance: synthesis is the combination of local nature so as to form a whole. Each part of the design directly refers us to the main theme: the letter “S” is the first letter in the names of Sintez and Siberia; in the silhouette of the plant recognises the cranberry, plentifully growing in in the swamps of the Northern Hemisphere; the topographic map of the region connects the design elements into a single composition, and the coordinates of the area will indicate the geographical location of The Great Vasyugan Mires and the capital city of the region.

The shooting of the lookbook was in the greenhouses of the Siberian Botanical Garden of The National Research Tomsk State University. This unique place is the best way to show the beauty of the local nature, because there are more than 8,000 plant species in its plant fund. Garden workers grow 335 species of rare plants in northern latitudes, 33 of which are listed in the Red Data Book.
