To mark the opening of the Chengdu FISU World University Games, Flint Walk launched the glasses-free 3D multi-sensory interactive event, Archery with Panda. It was inspired by the IP character- panda, and once launched, has attracted a big crowd of guests who joined the event, garnered a total of over 17 million impressions and engagementson on social network and offline event, and ignited a new archery craze.

As a part of the social good projects of the Chengdu FISU World University Games, the launch took place at the Taikoo Li CBD area of Chengdu, which has a high traffic volume. It took the Chinese aesthetics and was displayed on a 888 square-meter glasses-free billboard. The panda Rongbao held a shield with an apple at the top of his head and greeted the crowd while breaking through the screen. The technology was achieved by a bow, a positioning device, and an IoT (Internet of Things) system in the bow delivering archery data. In 60 seconds, the guest could stand inside the designated archery booth below the screen, hold the bow with both hands, aim at the shield and apple, then release the arrow. After this, the guest could scan the QR code shown on the 3D billboard and receive a customized sports report on their mobile devices.

The advanced digital technology, unique Chinese aesthetics, and the smooth event execution really highlighted the interactive event. The interaction between the public and Rongbao, the mascot panda, was not only entertaining and fun, but also added more trendy and novel features to the FISU World University Games. The team centered the project with archery in order to energize the public and provide emotional power to them, given that archery represents a kind of sport that enables people to store and release energy. By delivering glasses-free 3D interactive and immersive experiences in a physical environment, we are dedicated to unlocking more possibilities of interactive design in the domain of virtual scenes.
