Year of the Rat Spring Couplet Card

"Spring Couplets" (春聯) are decorations commonly found in Asian regions during the New Year period, which are posted on doors and walls. They typically feature auspicious phrases or represent the zodiac animal of the year. Posting Spring Couplets is believed to bring peace and good luck to the household throughout the year.

Our design concept draws inspiration from the Taiwan traditional saying '鼠咬錢' (Shǔ yǎo qián), which symbolizes rats bringing wealth during the Lunar Year of the Rat in Taiwan. Based on this idea, we have created a gift set that combines Spring Couplets and greeting cards.

The vibrant Spring Couplets are enclosed within delicate paper-cut envelopes. People can write their wishes on the envelopes and send them out, similar to using postcards. Upon receiving the card, the recipient can take out the Spring Couplets and decorate their walls with them, allowing the sender's blessings to accompany them throughout the new year. This New Year gift set not only serves as a decorative piece but also has practicality.
