2023 Taoyuan Minnan Festival-Yi-Ge Parade

Since 2012, the Taoyuan Cultural Affairs Bureau has organized the Minnan Festival to promote Minnan culture. Since 2014, it has organized the "Yi-Ge Parade", which combines local culture, natural features, and traditional arts and crafts to build creative Yi-Ge and revive Taoyuan's traditional Yi-Ge. The event of 2023 is divided into an invitation group, a traditional group, and a creative group, and a total of 40 teams from Taoyuan's temples, organizations, and schools participated in the parade. The parade was started by the Beigang Grand Yi-Ge Truck which invited a flag parade and clown parade to trek through Bakuaicuo Folk Art Village and the surrounding roads of Taoyuan. Along the way, the team demonstrated their enthusiasm and vigor, inviting the public to join them.
The process of making the Yi-Ge car inspires creativity among the people and gives them a sense of accomplishment when it is completed. During the parade, each group competed to show off their handmade Yi-Ge cars. The enthusiasm of the public also made the event a passionate atmosphere. Participation in the event has a positive effect on the cohesion of the Taoyuan people.
