Float4 produced the interactive content of the Globe, a 30ft tall immersive audiovisual sculpture at the heart of the new AT&T Discovery District in Dallas, TX. A project spearheaded by global architecture & design firm Gensler.
Within the structure inspired by the AT&T emblem, 15 custom-made interior ribs are embedded with over 300 000 high-brightness colour LEDs and sound capabilities. A polished outer shell reflects the surrounding campus, enhancing visual impact.
To bring the installation to life, an array of sensors allows the awe-inspiring audiovisual content to react in real time based on each visitor’s location within the structure. Specific movements as well as the number of visitors will trigger different content modes. The Globe presents four principal states, each with varying energy levels; the longer visitors spend inside the Globe, the more lively the content becomes.
The content modes also feature surprise Easter Eggs. Visitors can activate Easter Egg moments when performing specific actions or positioning themselves in specific locations within the structure. These features delight visitors as they realize they can unlock even more interactivity by working together. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Finally, 20 speakers and 6 subwoofers placed strategically inside the Globe’s structure allow visitors to experience the beautiful and truly immersive sound developed in collaboration with Made Music Studio.
