Gleolan is an optical imaging agent indicated in patients with high-grade glioma as an adjunct for the visualization of malignant tissue during surgery.

High-grade gliomas (HGG) are deadly brain tumors that are difficult to resect because they infiltrate and intersect with healthy brain tissue that may govern neurological function. Malignant tissue is insidious and elusive to traditional visualization tools such as white light and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Neurosurgeons can’t know the extent of tumor infiltration in advance of the procedure. To maximize the extent of resection, it would be game-changing if they could accurately delineate between malignant and healthy tissue, in real-time, during surgery.

The creative featured glowing pink 3-fingered monster hands emerging from folds of dark blue–hued brain tissue. The fingers represent insidious glioma tumors and are designed to grab attention and evoke the reader’s disdain toward cancer. The headline informs neurosurgeons that Gleolan gives them the ability to “See More. Resect More.” Other copy states, “Residual tumor has nowhere to hide.” These words promise that, thanks to Gleolan, the neurosurgeon can clearly see the malignant tissue.
