TrinityRail is the largest provider of railcar products and services in North America. As the market leader, they construct the boxcars, tank cars, hoppers, gondolas, autoracks, and intermodal cars that haul consumer goods, groceries, cars, and gasoline.

One of the most innovative services provided is Trinsight™, a cloud-based platform that provides visibility into rail customers’ fleet with real-time railcar tracking, analysis, and more: “Your Fleet in Focus.”

An over-two-minute animated video was created to launch Trinsight into the market. The long-form animated video features a mixture of scenes showing 3D railcars and functionality of the technology platform itself. It was imperative for these features to look as innovative and futuristic as the service itself.

With real-time tracking being a major benefit, an animated “ping” of yellow concentric circles is utilized throughout the video, radiating from railcars and used as a point of emphasis with accompanying callouts.

Another key feature is the GPS and telematic sensors to track railcar and freight health, including impact detection, door and hatch openings, cargo temperature and handbrake alerts. This is shown with pings, too, taking the viewer around the areas of the railcar where such alerts would originate.

In just three months since the video launched on YouTube, it has garnered over 40,000 views and countless favorable mentions at industry trade shows and interested customers.
