During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, health and safety restrictions worldwide meant HP’s traditional in-person enterprise printer sales model was on pause.
To help sell printers in a world that was very slowly reopening for business, HP had to rethink its usual ways of doing things. They focused on showcasing to office IT decision makers what RTO could look like.
HP created a colorful customizable enterprise printer solution meant to be brought out of the back room and used as a bold office centerpiece—reimagining RTO as “Redesign The Office.” Empowering office IT decision makers and HP enterprise sales teams in a vibrant and colorful way.
We helped HP make a tool that could illustrate just that—a 3D web-based visualizer. Leveraging WebGL animation and AR technology, the tool combined the virtual and the physical world into one using the open-source 3D game engine PlayCanvas.
This intuitive tool allowed IT decision makers to customize the perfect printer for their office space: By choosing its vibrant color paneling and attachments, exploring the different features through in-depth descriptions and videos as they rotate their creation 360 degrees, and even placing their custom printer into their real office space with AR. All this could be done from their phone or their PC.
The visualizer gave an impressive boost to HP’s usual website benchmarks—an 8% increase in contact rate, 73% rise in engagement, and a 17% increase in download rate. All contributing to 50K+ units purchased—totalling over $70M in sales. And helped IT decision makers turn their offices into a much more colorful place to return to.
