Digital Gardening: Time's Flow, the Moon's Glow

The artwork innovatively reinterprets oriental traditional ink aesthetics within the digital realm. The imagery of the flow of time and the glow of the moon is portrayed within the grand, dreamlike, and mysterious interplay of light and shadow shaped by ink artistry. Upon the massive celestial loop, an abstract world scroll unfolds gradually in front of the viewer who is standing in a traditional Chinese patio. Elements such as mountains, seas, stars, and the radiant moon appear and shift dynamically. The intricate relationships between time and space, humans and the universe are explored in this digital garden.
The entire artwork deconstructs and reconstructs the perceptual experience. Although the viewer is immersed in this surreal scenario, familiar architectural, natural, and biological elements, such as buildings, raindrops and red-crowned cranes register themselves in people's subconscious minds as elements of reality. The scroll-like world scene unfolds in a space akin to a vast celestial ring, where the surreal concept of time is unleashed, resulting in an immersive encounter with natural phenomena beyond conventional expectations.

Differing from the fixed perspective vanishing points found in traditional digital cave environments, this work's scene perspective can continuously and dynamically adjust with the viewer's movement. Sensory interactive technology, coupled with real-time digital rendering, further ensures individual interactivity and immersion in the space. Furthermore, when multiple people interact in the space, each person can control the position of the camera as the subject for a certain period. During this process, the perspective seen by other spectators is determined by this viewer. This technological innovation transforms human subjectivity into the core medium for displaying unique spatial scenarios, where all spectators in the cave collectively participate in creating this artwork. The virtual digital realm reshapes individuals' embodied sensory experiences. They are all reforming their personalized "Utopias".
