Like any good dairy recipe, this Nelson-Jameson project needed to be an equal mix of art and science.
That’s why the leading industry experts in the food processing and dairy ingredient space commissioned local Wisconsin artists to contribute the ingredients to create the best mix of imagery for our 2024 Nelson-Jameson Dairy Art Calendar project.
Entrants were given general guidelines for creating a piece of art or a photo to celebrate National Dairy Month. But each artist was also encouraged to take creative license in creating their piece that best displays the celebration of dairy. The 75-year-old family-owned company received entries from people of all ages across the United States. Entries ranged from drawings, paintings, collages, and photographs with the winners consisting of professional artists and hobbyists alike.
Judges awarded points for creativity, originality, and how thoughtfully the artist incorporated the dairy theme into their artwork. The calendar celebrates dairy holidays all year long such as World Milk Day, National Cheese Day, National Ice Cream Day and more. Each month, the calendar also celebrates Nelson-Jameson’s dairy roots, contributions to the dairy industry, and it’s support for some of the world’s best dairy product manufacturers.
The calendars with the 12 winning entries were distributed to contest winners, partners, clients, community members to demonstrate Nelson-Jameson’s year-round commitment to supporting buyers and partners by providing the best mix of ingredients, parts, and in-plant services. It’s a recipe that empowers those in the dairy industry to leverage science to create their own works of art.
All proceeds from calendar project sales via the company’s website benefit the Nelson-Jameson Foundation, which is focused on supporting philanthropic organizations the food and dairy industries as well as other charities that are important to Nelson-Jameson team vand community.
