The Taoyuan Children’s Art Center (TCAC) presents The Rock That Grew A Door, an ENESS exhibition at its open-air platform. The exhibition features the eponymous site-specific interactive installation that invites both children and adults to play and enjoy an experience of imagination and wisdom.
Founded in 1997 by Nimrod Weis, ENESS is a multi-award-winning art and technology studio. The team produces temporary and permanent interactive public art that combines various disciplines including sculpture, textiles, design, programming, music, and story. At the heart of all ENESS work is cross-generational connection. As pioneers of new media art, the collective's ethos is a belief in the power of providing art in everyday life that fires the imagination; that provides joy, happiness, and beauty in unexpected places – transformational experiences that change lives.
The Rock That Grew A Door, a new artwork commissioned by the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts (TMoFA), invites the audience to solve the mystery of what lies beyond the door. Through play and interactivity, the artwork offers a joyful participatory learning experience, inspiring children’s imaginations in problem-solving and leading them into a world of joy, adventure and new ways of seeing. When children open the door, they discover that well-known, everyday objects may offer profound wisdom, expanding their understanding of the world and its infinite beauty, complexity and depth. The Rock That Grew A Door aims to open new doors of insight in the minds of little art lovers.
