In the heart of California’s wine country, Donum is known for its exceptional wines, sustainable farming practices, and impressive art collection. Recently, Donum decided to highlight something equally special: their estate-grown honey.
Tasked with bringing Donum’s essence to life, our team at Affinity Creative Group and PackagingArts was entrusted with designing an unboxing experience that celebrates sustainability, community, and craftsmanship. Our goal was to elevate this experience to reflect Donum’s premium reputation and surprise customers with every detail.
The unboxing experience is a tribute to Donum’s commitment to quality and sustainability, featuring:
• 1 jar of Donum’s natural, raw estate-grown honey: A true reflection of Donum’s dedication to excellence.
• A locally crafted ceramic honey jar: Artisan-made with care, each jar represents the creativity of local craftsmen.
• 1 authentic wooden honey spoon: Adding a functional yet elegant touch to enhance the honey experience.
• An insert featuring the student artist: Showcasing the winning bee design by a local student, bridging art and community.
Two local partnerships were key in bringing this unique unboxing experience to life:
• The Oxbow School: Partnered with a local art-focused school, whose students designed the iconic bee, bringing youthful creativity and energy to the packaging.
• A local ceramic artist: Ensuring each honey jar was a one-of-a-kind piece, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the community.
With these collaborations in place, we set out to design every detail of the package, from the honey jar to the inserts, ensuring that the entire experience felt as premium and sustainable as Donum’s wines. The final result is a beautifully crafted unboxing that honors Donum’s core values of artistry, quality, and sustainability.
