Loneliness is a global health priority and has serious consequences for physical and mental health. For example, social isolation can increase your risk of death by 25-33%. The challenge lies in addressing the amalgamation of financial hardship, emotional distress, accessibility and stigma. 73% of people suffering with their mental health do not seek professional help and a patients’ wait time to see a psychiatrist can be up to almost 2 years. The New Normal's (TNN) mission is to support people in Hong Kong through life’s difficult moments. The New Normal (TNN) were awarded two weeks of free 30-second billboard airtime at the large digital OOG screen at SOGO in Causeway Bay Hong Kong, they wished to use this opportunity to create a simple but engaging video campaign that would capture the attention of passers by and make them stop and think "Am I okay?", "Are those I love okay?". With a tight timeline of just six days to deliver a video from concept to completion, the Casual Films team created a simple, large scale epic and dramatic film which was designed to showcases the impact of TNN's programmes through visuals of real interactions. The film had to be bilingual with captions as sound can be hard to hear at that location. The film had to maintain a simple yet engaging format, ensuring clarity in a fast-paced environment. The film had to focus on a single key message that best represented The New Normal’s work. The film had to conclude with a strong call-to-action (CTA), such as “Visit our website” or “Follow us” with the charity logo. In no time at all the creative and production team at Casual Hong Kong came up with and produced the concept "Are You Okay?" which was shot on the roof of our production facility in Lai Chi Kok using members of our staff. It was delivered on time for release at Sogo where it had an immediate impact, driving enquiries to The New Normal's website and social media channels and gaining significant word of mouth amongst passers by in Causeway Bay.
