Yunlin’s Gukeng Township is known as the birthplace of Taiwanese coffee. To support the growth of the domestic coffee industry, the Yunlin County Government launched the Taiwan Coffee Festival in 2003, marking over two decades of celebration.
The 2024 Taiwan Coffee Festival, themed "Gathering Coffee Enthusiasts," brought together 9 cities and 96 brands to create a collaborative urban café experience. This dynamic event welcomed coffee lovers across generations to Gukeng, where they enjoyed specialty coffee and cuisine from various regions of Taiwan. The festival provided a vibrant setting for visitors to explore flavors, connect with the coffee community, and immerse themselves in the art of coffee appreciation.
Marking its 22nd year, the Taiwan Coffee Festival returned in 2024 with a refreshed format. Unlike previous editions held across multiple weekends and locations, this year’s event was fully integrated and hosted for the first time across two expansive lawn areas along the Gukeng Green Tunnel.
The festival was divided into two themed zones: the Classic Tasting Area and the Trendy Lifestyle Area. These zones brought together key segments of the coffee value chain, including roasters, gourmet coffee food vendors, creative merchandise producers, and equipment suppliers. The event also invited LoFi Land, known for its ecological philosophy, to create a relaxed, open-air camping atmosphere that drew a diverse crowd of coffee enthusiasts, tourists, and lifestyle brand followers from across Taiwan.
Beyond its curated vendor offerings, the festival featured a variety of large-scale interactive installations. These included a symbolic tunnel constructed with real coffee trees, a giant branded tote balloon as a photo hotspot, and a supersized capsule toy machine filled with partner products. The limited-edition 2024 Taiwan Coffee Festival picnic bag further elevated the festival's appeal.
Altogether, this year’s event not only strengthened local brand visibility and product sales but also delivered an engaging, multi-sensory experience suitable for all ages—establishing a lively and inclusive coffee carnival atmosphere.
