About The Entry
“Black Tide Island-Interactive Web Experience” is a digital platform created to accompany Taiwan’s first drama series focusing on political prisoners at Green Island’s New Life Correction Center. By blending cinematography with digital technology, the project invites the public to reexamine the White Terror and issues of transitional justice.
Through immersive interaction and visual storytelling, users don’t just watch the story—they can “land” on the island and explore the world within the series. The platform combines nonlinear exploration with timeline-based storytelling, integrating gamified discovery elements. Content is gradually unlocked in sync with the show’s broadcast schedule.
The website transforms what was originally a one-time film set into a permanent digital asset. It extends the lifespan of the series, preserves valuable historical environments, and shifts viewers from passive spectators to active explorers. By breaking the boundaries of time and space, the platform allows audiences to engage deeply with this chapter of history.
This interactive experience not only fulfills its core mission of preserving historical scenes but also surpasses expectations in terms of promotional and educational impact. It has successfully drawn greater attention to the series, while emerging as a potential platform for public participation and community engagement. Through an innovative format, it promotes quality education, cultural preservation, and sustainable community development—bringing long-tail value to the series that extends far beyond its original broadcast.
