Creating a catalog with over 14,000 SKUs is a formidable undertaking no matter the subject. When those SKUs are screws, you might wonder how many it will take to hold your mind together by the time it's finished. In designing all 286 pages of Grabber's 2025 Fastener Solutions catalog, we strove to make the subject matter well-organized, easy to navigate and, dare we say, beautiful?
To start, we replaced outdated 3D illustrations with 2D technical spec drawings that are simple, clean and timeless. Then, we gave readers a respite from tables dense with item numbers and words like "electrogalvanized" by punctuating each section with photography that elevates the product to the level of abstract art. Choices of type, color and layout were made to subtly maximize readability and minimize frustration.
The resulting catalog is impeccably organized, easy to follow and pleasant to peruse—at least for those who order screws in an unfathomable range of shapes and sizes. It's a reminder that, in both construction and graphic design, the smallest details can make the biggest differences. Make one wrong choice, and you may be—to avoid the punny cliche—out of luck.
