Chenglong Wetland A Flowing Feast of Arts 2025 – Shining Pearls Beneath the Sea Level
The most dazzling pearl beneath the Yunlin sunset – ChengLong Wetland – welcomed its most significant annual art event today (the 24th): the 2025 ChengLong Wetlands Mobile Art Festival. This year's event features five newly created installation artworks, the YCDC (Yunlin Creative Design Cneter) cultural and creative market, street performer shows, and a site-specific environmental theater performance set against the backdrop of ChengLong Wetlands. The performance includes acts by Niaosong High School of the Arts and the renowned U-Theatre, offering a perfect presentation of the natural beauty of the wetlands.
First launched in 2010 as the ChengLong Wetlands International Environmental Art Festival, this ongoing Mobile Art Festival continues to focus on environmental art. It engages local residents and the broader public in dialogue about wetland and environmental issues, establishing the ChengLong community as a benchmark village for integrating ecological preservation with seasonal art events. ChengLong has since become a model for regional revitalization through art.
Through active artistic engagement, the festival has achieved impressive participation and is now considered the only initiative in Taiwan comparable to Japan’s Setouchi Triennale in terms of artistic-driven revitalization. By merging wetland ecology with the arts, the festival raises public awareness of ecological issues while aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ChengLong Wetlands has transformed from adversity into opportunity, spurring local economic growth and evolving into an international sustainable art village grounded in ecological conservation and cultural development.
