Ventura County Coast’s “It’s In Our Nature” campaign introduced a bold new visual identity rooted in the authentic beauty, culture, and vibe of California’s coastal getaway. This rebrand harmonized the natural environment with modern visual storytelling—leveraging rich, sensory-driven creative to communicate a strong sense of place and community.
The evolved identity centered around five core destinations: Ventura, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, and the Channel Islands. The campaign amplified their individual personalities through a fresh and vibrant color palette inspired by local landscapes—like “Ocean Swells,” “Island Adventure,” and “Sunset Views.” These visual cues were then unified by a custom suite of iconography and patterns representing wildlife, local pastimes, and the laid-back lifestyle that defines the region.
VCC’s reimagined logo paid homage to vintage California surf signage, pairing nostalgic typography with a clean, welcoming layout. Icon systems and custom patterns—from palm leaves to sun rays and waves—added flexibility across digital, print, and environmental mediums.
This visual transformation seamlessly extended across every brand touchpoint. Ads, social content, video, and wayfinding graphics featured consistent themes of “Good Vibes. Adventure. Family Fun.”—all tied back to the emotional core of “It’s In Our Nature.” The result was a brand system that felt both timeless and fresh—one that genuinely reflected VCC’s promise as a destination for authentic, affordable, California experiences.
