SCADstory Atlanta is more than an immersive campus experience—it’s a flagship brand expression for the Savannah College of Art and Design. Designed as both a recruitment tool and a brand storytelling platform, SCADstory transforms a campus visit into a 4D journey that embodies the university’s identity, values, and promise to its students.
The Experience
Guests step into a gallery alive with the talent of SCAD students, showcasing work from more than two dozen degree programs. Then, the walls awaken—projection-mapped imagery ripples across the space, lights dance, and an animated Paula Wallace, SCAD co-founder and president, appears. With warmth and wit, she invites visitors on an intimate journey—from her first days as a young teacher with a daring dream to the bold leap that created a university where creatives have every resource to flourish.
The adventure unfolds through a series of breathtaking environments:
• An art gallery that transforms before your eyes, revealing hidden moments of creativity and wonder.
• A luminous corridor of dancing light, drawing guests deeper into the story.
• A 360-degree “dream box”, where a kaleidoscope of abstract installations, archival imagery, and visual poetry immerses visitors in 45 years of SCAD creativity, beauty, and invention.
Guided by Paula, guests travel from SCAD’s beginnings in Savannah, to the lavender-scented hills of its Lacoste, France campus, and finally to the energy-charged heart of Atlanta. The finale erupts into a 360-degree visual symphony, ending with the powerful promise: “This Is Your Place.”
Innovation in Education
SCADstory Atlanta blends Hollywood-caliber projection mapping, Broadway-level scenic design, and themed entertainment storytelling into a cohesive educational experience. Over 30 SCAD students, alumni, and faculty contributed across disciplines—animation, music, sound, lighting, fragrance, projection mapping, and narrative development—embodying SCAD’s “learn by creating, collaborating, and innovating” ethos.
Impact and Accessibility
Free and open to the public (with a suggested $5 donation to student scholarships), SCADstory Atlanta is both a recruitment magnet and a community engagement platform, turning curiosity into commitment.
