The 2025 Taipei Summer Festival ended in a romantic style on Chinese Valentine’s Day with an event themed “Love Comes at the Right Time.” The event combined fireworks, music, and local culture, which together with four Toy Story-themed installations set up along the Yanping Riverside Park waterfront for the duration of the festival, created the most unmissable fireworks celebration in Taipei this summer. This year’s festival, which ran from August 6 to 30, brought together the Dadaocheng commercial district, local brands, and tourist attractions. With dazzling fireworks displays, musical performances, a riverside light gallery, a cultural and creative market, as well as organized experiences, it attracted over 290,000 visitors, including tourists from around Taiwan and overseas. The centerpiece of the grand finale, a magnificent eight-minute fireworks display, was a specially-designed “Thousand Wheels of Color” effect enhanced by the reflections on the water, illuminating the Taipei night sky and filling festival-goers’hearts with love. The festival organizers worked with businesses in the commercial district on online promotions to offer gifts with purchases above a certain amount, which helped increase consumer spending and boosted the local economy. The Taipei Summer Festival showcased the creativity of urban festivals and by focusing on cross-sector collaboration and cultural sustainability, also allowed Dadaocheng's historical heritage and modern innovation to shine on the international stage, making it this year’s most spectacular midsummer celebration.
