Discover Aseer is a cinematic odyssey designed to redefine the global perception of Saudi Arabia’s tourism landscape. While the world often associates the region with vast deserts, this film unveils the lush, mist-covered peaks and vibrant cultural heritage of the Aseer region. The objective was to create an immersive visual poem that captures the soul of the highlands, blending the raw power of nature with the intimate traditions of its people. Beyond its visual ambition, what truly set the Aseer film journey apart was the profound sense of human connection woven into every stage of the process, paired with the excitement of discovering new lands and filming locations that had never before been explored through a cinematic lens. Executive producer Mohamed Nabouche reflects on how the entire film team experienced a deep and genuine bond with the people of Aseer, a connection that extended far beyond the screen and into everyday shared moments with the cast, the culture, the food, the dance groups, and the many landmarks that define the region’s identity. These encounters transformed the production into a shared journey rather than a traditional shoot, where trust and mutual respect shaped the storytelling. Nabouche also highlights the striking contrasts of Aseer’s geography and climate, noting how the crew could find themselves wearing jackets in cool, mist-filled mountain conditions, only to shift into t-shirts later the same day as the weather warmed an experience that perfectly reflects the diverse moods and rhythms of this unique part of Saudi Arabia. These natural shifts added depth and authenticity to the film, reinforcing the idea that Aseer is a place of constant change, surprise, and richness. Adding to the project’s scale and emotional weight, more than 500 local Saudis participated in the film’s creation, offering their time, talent, traditions, and pride to help bring Discover Aseer to life. Their involvement ensured that the film was not simply about the region, but truly shaped by its people, resulting in a cinematic experience that celebrates community, discovery, and the enduring human spirit at the heart of Aseer.
