In this design, I am trying to convey a sense of “audio pollution” along with the hidden emotional struggles and frustrations that non-native English speakers undergo during assimilation. The image in the center is a metaphor for the emotional and physical energy spent listening to your own voice in a loop over and over again to sound like someone else. The main bold headline presents a social justice argument that asks the audience to participate in the change by pronouncing the names of others correctly out of respect for their cultural identities and to make society a more equitable place for everyone.
