The Jungian Psychology Book Series is a cover and binding design project for a multi-volume work on Jungian psychology. This project aims to establish a unified visual system across nine volumes while ensuring each volume maintains distinct visual recognition.
The core visual concept draws directly from Carl Jung's original hand-drawn illustrations. Graphic elements were extracted, refined, and reorganized from Jung’s drawings, then used as the main compositional patterns for each cover. This design anchors the series' visual language directly in the author himself, creating a direct and respectful connection between content and form. Each volume employs a unique combination of these elements, collectively forming a unified series identity.
A key design highlight appears along the spine edges. All three sides of each book are edge-painted, and when the volumes are placed together in sequence, the painted edges align to form three complete illustrations by Jung. This transforms the series from individual books into a cohesive visual entity, encouraging readers to perceive the collection as a unified whole through physical interaction rather than isolated works.
