About The Entry
The objective of the exhibit was to position von Hagen Design as a holistic provider of experiential spaces and to demonstrate how architecture, art, and digital technology merge into a coherent spatial narrative. The stand communicated the company’s core capability: delivering international trade show and branded environments from concept to on-site execution, complemented by proprietary LED and LCD solutions from the new brand oneled®.
Presented at EuroShop, the world’s leading retail trade fair with more than 1,800 exhibitors and over 81,000 visitors, the key challenge was to capture attention within seconds while enabling meaningful conversations with decision-makers. The concept needed to convey a complex, non-tangible service through an intuitive spatial experience.
The design was inspired by the encounter between Axel von Hagen and Nepalese photographer Kishor Kayastha and developed together with Chris Wendel. The goal was to translate the powerful photographic landscapes from the Mustang region into architecture and create an environment where nature, art, and technology converge. The guiding idea, “The world stands upside down,” was expressed through a monumental inverted rock suspended nearly invisible above the stand, acting as a visual anchor across the exhibition hall.
Within a 70sqm open layout, the exhibit functioned as a brand statement, experiential space, and platform for product demonstrations and conversations. Large-format panoramas transformed LED technology into an emotional storytelling medium, deliberately contrasting with the visual overload of the fair. The black-and-white landscapes, shown at an extraordinary scale, featured soft transitions, depth, and strong contrasts between light and structure. Combined with subtle, regionally inspired soundscapes, this created an almost meditative atmosphere that slowed visitors down and immersed them in the world of Nepal. A 5-meter transparent LED installation reinforced this effect, adding depth while maintaining openness.
Interactive touchpoints and a live mini-showroom allowed visitors to explore oneled® solutions directly. The open layout without barriers encouraged immediate interaction and dialogue.
Sustainability was ensured through modular systems, reusable components, and the continued use of key elements, including the central rock.
The result is a cohesive environment where architecture, content, and technology seamlessly interact, making the company’s expertise tangible through experience rather than explanation.
