About The Entry

As the Official Destination Partner of the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026, Miral chose an unconventional approach to event storytelling. Rather than relying on athletes, ambassadors, or influencers, its in-house creative studio, Atheer by Miral, placed Miral employees at the heart of a multi-phase campaign culminating in a short documentary that captured the transformative power of sport through authentic lived experiences.
Hosted for the first time in the Middle East, the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 welcomed more than 25,000 participants from around the world, celebrating lifelong participation in sport. Miral's documentary captures this spirit through genuine voices rather than scripted messaging, creating an emotionally engaging narrative that resonates with audiences beyond the event itself.
Built on the belief that the Open Masters Games celebrates participation rather than performance, the campaign focused on the personal journeys behind the competition. Instead of measuring success through medals, it celebrated the human stories behind participation. The five-minute documentary was the culmination of a multi-phase creative journey, moving beyond traditional event coverage to capture the full spirit of the Games from preparation to participation. Through personal reflections and firsthand experiences, the documentary follows participants from anticipation to achievement, showcasing the Games through the eyes of those who lived them.
Set against the backdrop of Yas Island and Abu Dhabi's world-class sporting venues, the documentary juxtaposes quiet moments of personal reflection with the energy of live competition. Combining intimate interviews, cinematic visuals, and immersive event footage, it reveals the emotional realities behind participation. By placing employees at the center of the narrative, the film transforms a destination partnership into a story of human connection, demonstrating that the impact of the Games extends far beyond competition.
The documentary leaves viewers with a powerful reminder that sport is not defined by age, competition, or medals, but by the courage to take part, the resilience to keep going, and the connections built along the way.
