Celebrating 20 Years of Leadership

Since 1999, Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson has led an extraordinary transformation of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York and Hartford, Connecticut into a world-class technological research university. Rankings for Rensselaer among national universities have risen substantially under Dr. Jackson's tenure, and the number of students applying to join the freshman class has tripled. To honor the 20-year anniversary of Dr. Jackson’s tenure as president, We were called upon to deliver a short film, documenting a brief history of Dr. Jackson, her accomplishments during her presidency from inauguration to present, told through interviews of trustees, family, students and faculty. The film was screened at the RPI Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center on the RPI campus in front of an audience that included members of the RPI board of trustees, members of the business community, partners of RPI, faculty and students, and members of Dr. Jackson’s family.
