As part of their mission to push the envelope for contemporary Chinese music, Ding Yi Music Company brought together two unlikely subject matters – bridges and music. Their concert series, "Of Music and Photography", aims to bring new meanings and colours to various topics of interest. In this edition, the topic is "bridge".
We often think of a bridge as a tool, as a meeting point between people, a link-way. But what else can a 'bridge' mean to people? Partnering with 6 local photographers and composers, the concert brought to life 6 iconic bridges in Singapore, at the same time, expanding contemporary Chinese music literature.
To communicate these graphically, the use of minimalistic illustrations of bridges is juxtaposed with music stave, creating a seamless visual experience. The visual motif flows throughout the concert collateral to create a cohesive visual language.
