The Organic Box (TOB) connects consumers with organic producers and farmers across Northern Alberta. The website's goal was obvious: to increase box subscriptions. To get there, we needed to not only inspire users with TOB's ethos, but educate them on the subscription model.
A key piece of the redesign was better integrating the site with its e-commerce component. Products from the ordering system are now showcased on the homepage, and users are able to browse the full catalogue without signing up. Potential customers are no longer left guessing what might come in a box.
We also focused on improving the experience of choosing food, so we overhauled the catalogue, the blog, producer profiles and recipes. By adding a more robust search for products, a smarter taxonomy for categorizing them and helpful tags for things like "local" or "vegan", we transformed a laborious task into an enjoyable one. We also enhanced the shopping cart so that it is easy to find and adjust quantities and remove selected items as needed.
