My favorite part of the creative process is the initial ideation and brainstorming stage. It's the time when ideas flow freely, and possibilities seem endless. It also brings greater visibility and credibility, opening doors to new opportunities and collaborations.
11 Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2023 MUSE Creative Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
The winning work I entered into the 2023 MUSE Creative Awards is a rebranding project for book publishing brand. This brand specializes in publishing books on New Age subjects such as alternative health, psychic development, and spirituality. The project involved redesigning the company's overall identity as well as creating covers for a series of three different books. My objective was to give brand a more contemporary look and feel while honoring its rich history and maintaining a sense of authenticity. I wanted to create a visual identity that would resonate with modern audiences while capturing the essence of spirituality and wisdom that publishing brand's books embody. For the rebranding, I focused on developing a typographical style that was both distinctive and classic. I carefully selected a color palette that would blend seamlessly with the overall design, evoking a sense of serenity and spiritual depth. The new logo and visual elements harmoniously represented brand's identity as a publisher of insightful and transformative books. To further enhance the brand's uniqueness and personal touch, I decided to create custom illustrations for the cover of each book in the series. These illustrations were meant to visually explain complex spiritual concepts in a captivating and accessible way. By utilizing my artistic skills, I was able to produce high-quality illustrations that perfectly complemented the overall design aesthetic, adding depth and visual intrigue to the books. Entering this project into the 2023 MUSE Creative Awards allowed me to showcase the successful fusion of tradition and modernity in the rebranding of a prominent publishing company. It exemplified my ability to create a visually engaging and meaningful design that speaks to the essence of the brand and captivates the audience.
12 What was the biggest challenge with this project?
The biggest challenge with this project was striking the right balance between modernity and tradition in the rebranding of the book publisher. It was essential to create a design that appealed to contemporary audiences while still respecting the company's long-standing heritage. Finding the perfect visual language that captured the essence of spirituality without feeling outdated was a delicate task. It required thorough research, exploration, and careful decision-making to overcome this challenge successfully.
