Startup biotech company, Orig3n, desired premium packaging to launch their direct-to-consumer DNA tests. With the challenge of high-cost production for small runs, WHM designed a single rigid box with foil branding treatment that could be used across all DNA test SKUs. Inside box sits a riser that holds a sample-collection swab and instructions, with return envelope hidden beneath it. WHM then designed a custom sleeve for each DNA test and printed in small runs digitally. This enabled Orig3n to update the design of sleeves and add products as needed without significant expense because all leveraged the same rigid box. Orig3n has credited the design of their packaging in attracting additional investors and online retailer, Amazon, who selected the brand to receive prominent marketing opportunities (i.e. Amazon’s Deal of the Day) on their platform.
