This video introduces the Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF) that has been held for thirteen years, through the words of many prominent figures such as U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu, President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific Region for the Motion Picture Association (MPA) Mike Ellis, Chair of PGA’s International Committee, Stu Levy, Famous Hollywood Actresses Gal Gadot, Michelle Rodriguez, and many political leaders, celebrities and filmmakers. It showcases the excellent films highlights from both the U.S. and China; it introduces the significant relationship between the U.S. and China for the benefits of cultural exchanges and working cooperation between these two countries. The Chinese American Film Festival aims to build a bridge for cultural exchange and to create opportunities for co-production between the film industries in the U.S. and China. It has become a significant bridge for the film industries in both countries and every year celebrities and industry leaders from both countries attend the festival. CAFF is the only Chinese American cultural event in the United States that is officially recognized by the U.S. and Chinese governments as well as the film and TV industries. CAFF is the only U.S. and China film and TV cultural exchange event that has received letters of recognition signed by two former U.S. Presidents, Obama and Bush. In 2014, it became the only China-US film festival recorded in the China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and Cultural Activities as a national event; which it was elected again in 2016. CAFF is also the only China-US film cultural events formally written in the U.S. Congress report, as a part of U.S. history. To recognize the Chinese American Film Festival for its continuous contribution to the Chinese American cultural exchange, the Los Angeles County government designated November as“CAFF Month”on October 31st in 2017 and this was witnessed by 5 Los Angeles County officials. The mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, named November 1st, as the "Chinese American Film Festival Day" which is the day of the 13th Chinese American Film Festival Opening Ceremony.
