In January 2020 we were all set to launch Join the Water Whiz Challenge. Designed to get people to go to public sites and events and locations to check in, post selfies and share what they are doing for the environment. COVID 19 changed everything. By mid-February, it was clear that even without a lockdown, people had no business gathering. While there was a social media component to the original campaign, we had to move the entire campaign online. We cancelled all the preplanned ads promoting 50-some events and re-tooled the program to get people to tell us what they HAVE done for the environment, what are good things to do and so on. Each post was an entry into a drawing. The winner, randomly selected, would be "animated" in a short video. Our campaign components included animations about climate change, sustainability and conservation. We had coloring sheets for kids and cartoons. As school teacher searched for appropriate lesson content, we developed a package for Broward County schools.
