This virtual commencement ceremony is a celebration of the class of 2021. We had the event hosted by an alumnus and created a script and storyboard for the host. To display the actual students, we created a mini-website where students can upload their headshot right up until a few days before the ceremony. We then created a script to export the headshots and student info, and using After-Effects, imported each student, and animated them into view during the virtual ceremony video. This was truly a technological feat. We also added a special feature at the end, where faculty held up notecards, weaving a story to their students after such a challenging year. The virtual ceremony was done with a 3-camera shoot in a cinematic style.
