Woke Vote’s mission is to invest in the long-term engagement, training, and development of new community organizers to mobilize historically disengaged voters of color. Since its inception, the activities of Woke Vote have led to drastically increased community turnout rates—in all targeted areas by at least 5%, and in some by as much as 45%. The next wave of political leadership has been shaped in no small part by the organization, having engaged over 1.2 million Black voters in the most recent election cycle.
As the primary program portal, and the directory for all elements of activation, WokeVote.us is a central component to the organization’s multifaceted approach. The site is built with a responsive design, enabling a powerful and smooth experience on any device, in any location. With less noise and key information consolidated, it’s easy for voters to understand what their next action is. Features of the site include a clean and simple design that uses colors to convey urgency, and guided walk-through voter preparation steps to register, check voter status, and find polling locations.
Further, the design of the website is open source, so that it may be re-platformed for different causes and future elections.
