Neighbors everywhere got to celebrate Halloween 2020 safely with Nextdoor + Party City’s Treat Map (and surprise guests!). On the Treat Map, neighbors could pin their home as an indicator they’d have decorations, pumpkin projects, or be available for a socially-distanced costume parade, and enthusiastic communities jumped in to participate or peruse (7 million strong!). Also included in the map was a unique augmented reality experience that let virtual visitors in costumes visit you from anywhere you were. Neighbors could unlock these characters by finding their nearest Party City in the Treat Map and launching the experience. The AR experience was launched 270k+ times and there was a 52k+ in-store Party City visit bump attributed to the initiative. Nextdoor and Party City gave more than a brand message, they provided a tool to responsibly celebrate the holiday so many look forward to and the content to truly surprise and delight members.
