eMoyo is a proudly South African medical technology company and manufacturer of state-of-the-art, location-independent med-tech devices.
Driven by their passion for advancing access to high-quality, affordable, universal healthcare for all, in 2008 the company introduced what would become its flagship product – the iconic Kuduwave High-Frequency Portable Audiometer.
As their agency, we were tasked with eMoyo’s complete rebranding, which included redesigning their logo, website and brand identity.
eMoyo’s previous logo was not just outdated in appearance, it also lacked clear meaning. It was overly complex, so that, when reduced in size, much detail disappeared, rendering it ineffective.
At its core, eMoyo’s product offering was designed to empower clinicians and healthcare workers to work simpler, faster and more cost-efficiently. Our objective? Reflecting this ease and simplicity in the brand’s visual identity.
Our uncluttered design aesthetic incorporates lots of white space, intended to highlight the brand’s clinical nature, while our choice of blues and oranges was based on these colours being proven to be comforting to the human eye. Typefaces were selected for their readability, while the use of “caught-in-the-moment” imagery conveys warmth, trust and authenticity.
Another objective was placing eMoyo’s flagship product, the iconic Kuduwave portable audiometer, front and centre in the brand’s visual identity. We achieved this by visually referencing the Kuduwave headset in eMoyo’s brand mark, which forms part of its logo.
What’s more, eMoyo’s new logo invokes a smiling happy face, a “human touch” element that emphasises the brand’s optimistic nature – and the freedom that vibrantly good health brings.
Animated or manipulated, this brand mark becomes a living logo, reflecting the dynamic nature of the brand.
