AWAY takes place in a distant post-apocalyptic future where the main character "The Traveler" is a young woman who's trying to survive by scavenging food and supplies as she wanders between a burnt forest and the almost "ghost city" she lives in.
AWAY was made to explore the storytelling possibilities in the new environment that is virtual production on LED volumes. At this intersection of gaming, animation, and filmmaking, we were able to put together our creative expertise and technical know-how in creating this short film using Unreal Engine in ONE production day on the XR Stage.
