'Are You Sleeping?'

“Are You Sleeping?” is a branded podcast created by Vox Media’s award-winning brand studio, Vox Creative in partnership with Mattress Firm. This 10-episode sound-rich podcast series takes listeners on a unique journey, diving deep into sleep stories that upend our assumptions around slumber and its inextricable relationship with our personal and collective sense of how we perform in our everyday lives.

Hosted by award-winning stand-up comedian, actress and writer, Kate Berlant, in each episode, Kate finds herself in conversation with guests who have surprising and never-before-heard sleep stories. The series features commentary from leading Sleep Experts, like Dr. Shelby Harris, Psy.D., C.BSM, as they help listeners gain an understanding of how sleep makes and shapes who we are, and how our unconscious hours greatly impact our waking life.

The stories of guests range from those who are forced to sleep in unexpected places and at unusual times, to those who experience significant and unforeseen impacts of lack of sleep, to those who are embracing the radical power of giving themselves permission to rest.

Included in the series are four, five-minute-long ‘Community Episodes’ that invite the audience to share the ways sleep and rest are affecting their own lives and get the opportunity to ask questions and receive factual and practical advice from sleep experts.
