When it comes to beauty, looks matter a lot, and this applies to both living things and inanimate objects. Our client recognized the need to revamp the appearance of their product packaging to match with their newly enhanced skincare products that now use extra-premium ingredients.
Additionally, they sought to solve their packaging-related issues like short-lived impressions, difficulty differentiating product uses, and consumers finding no reason to keep the previous packaging design, which results in both cost and material waste— the worst case scenario for a business and the environment.
To tackle the issue of consumers having difficulty distinguishing between product usages, colour coding of labels was applied to ease differentiation and to provide a definitive sequence of using the serums in the correct order. In order to combat the issue of short lasting impressions, a French mirror detailing was added around the monogram to add class and sophistication while gold foil stamping was used to bring out a "premium" feel.
For customers who had no reason to keep the previous box packaging, the new design transforms the box into a slide-out one that allows customers to reuse it as storage for small items like jewellery or stack multiple boxes together for the Face Plus aficionados and turn it into a tabletop-like drawer. This, in turn, encourages the first two of the three R's: Reduce and Reuse.
