T Mobile for Business

Director Jonathan Yi led us through this complex shoot for TMobile, starring futurist Jason Silva. The most exciting challenge of this project was shooting on a massive 87' X 20' LED volume wall using the new XR (or Extended Reality) technology. Our team created unique 3D environments specifically for the creative. But unlike a traditional green-screen shoot, these environments were designed and developed well before the shoot days. In this XR pipeline, all of the design, development, and troubleshooting needed to be fully realized before filming. Once designs were finalized, they were handed over to Unreal developers who optimized the scenes for our LED wall. Once the environments were on the wall, our camera was mapped to the environment and we were essentially filming inside a gaming engine. When the camera moved, the scene responded in real time with zero latency.

To further help blend the scenes together, we worked closely with our production designer to create physical foreground elements matching the design of our virtual environments. We created everything from factory floor robots to construction elevators. Our final product is a web series positioning TMobile as the industry leader in 5G networking.
