At the center of U Hue's experience is a real-time mood map that allows users to connect with others by reading the diary behind each color-coded dot on the map, sharing why they feel blue or happy today, and building a stronger sense of community without sacrificing privacy. Additionally, U Hue's maps incorporate layers such as a Geocaching Game, reminiscent of Pokemon Go, that motivates users to explore the campus and discover AR items related to its history, providing a gamified experience and tangible rewards to maintain a positive cycle.
The app also provides an easy-to-use list of activities for users to sign up for and a one-stop resource list to empower users to fight stress and seasonal depression more confidently. Ultimately, U Hue encourages outdoor activity, fosters a sense of community and support, and provides tools to improve mental health and well-being among UW students.
